Nothing sparks a passion for change more than seeing a world in desperate need of it. And nothing fuels that passion to continue, like seeing the difference our efforts make. Today we were blessed to see both.
We visited the school of Zamine Sebaye for the first time today. This is where we will be working for the next few days. Our drive there took us past the faces of great poverty and suffering. But our arrival at the school brought us hope in the form of many smiling children. The children, who have so little, are able to benefit so greatly from what we as a community have contributed so far and from what we will continue to do in the future.
The fruits of these seeds may not be noticed for years to come but after visiting the school we were able to visit four wells (which our church and greater community have helped to develop) that have had an immediate impact on the people around them. Before these wells, hundreds of people (men, women, and children) had to walk 10 km (one way) just for the opportunity to buy clean water. Now clean water is much closer to their homes, which means increased health and safety for everyone.
